The Luthiers Guild was created as an educational organization in Daviess County Kentucky by a group of luthiers willing to share their knowledge and skill with other enthusiasts to uncover the mystery and science of instrument building and repair, they also seek opportunities for community activities to help educate the public about lutherie.

Membership is open to anyone interested in stringed musical instrument construction, repair, and/or restoration. Suppliers also welcome. Membership dues are $30 adult and $15 under 18 per year.

Unlike most manufacturers, custom luthier shops can provide one on one services to craft an instrument with a personalized setup to assist the musician to release his personal sound.
Young aspiring musicians now advance more rapidly than any time in history due to online information, lessons, and inspiration. “Advanced Musicians” are emerging at younger ages and in large numbers.
These musicians are finding momentum and satisfaction by employing their higher skills in custom built instruments from independent luthiers.
